Interpreter Services

Alameda Hospital provides free interpretation in 28 languages for non-English-speaking patients, or those with limited English skills, through contracted services. These services are provided by highly trained language interpreters 24-hours a day, every day. Family members are strongly discouraged from acting as interpreters due to confidentiality concerns and the use of medical terms.

Translated (written) materials are available in multiple languages. Let your nurse know if you would prefer written materials in a language other than English. Sign language (ASL) services are also available.

Asian Health Outreach Program: The Asian Health Outreach Program facilitates the pre-registration process and coordinates scheduling to minimize time spent at the hospital.
